The “Safety Pack IP” consultation focuses on the dos and don’ts of intellectual property (IP) to help you avoid infringing on others’ rights and protect your own IP. The goal of the consultation is to provide founders and companies with clear, understandable, and practical guidance on which IP measures make sense and when, which risks should be avoided, and how limited budgets can be used strategically and optimally.

The consultation is aimed at:
- Students and those interested in starting a business who have not yet done so
- Startups in the early or advanced stages
- Scaleups and SMEs
- Companies looking to scale internationally and expand their existing IP cost-effectively across different territories

Consulting services related to the “Safety Pack IP” include, among other things:
- Advice on funding opportunities for patents, trademarks, and designs
- Free assistance with or support for submitting funding applications, monitoring, and processing
- Development of a suitable IP filing strategy
- Advice on protecting business and product ideas through
- Patents, trademarks, designs, and domains
- Guidance on research and procedures to avoid intellectual property infringements
- Strategic prioritization of IP measures (What is important now? What later?) – also with regard to investor, funding, and growth phases
- Initial assessment of the internationalization of intellectual property rights

About HEILEIN IP LAW:

The team at HEILEIN IP LAW primarily assists startups and specializes in all national, European, and international procedures for obtaining and defending intellectual property rights (patents, designs, trademarks).

Jochen Maxton is a German patent attorney based in Cologne. He studied mechanical engineering at RWTH Aachen University and remains closely connected to Aachen’s startup and innovation scene to this day. A particular focus of his work is providing strategic IP consulting to founders, startups, scaleups, and social entrepreneurs who are developing innovative business models and aim to achieve both economic and social impact.
